Tuesday 31st July is World Ranger Day, a time to celebrate the unsung heroes who protect wildlife worldwide and to give our own rangers the recognition they deserve.
The life of a ranger involves working on the front line of conservation – tackling issues such as poaching, dealing with stakeholder conflicts and managing protected areas. To celebrate the day we’re holding a mini-ranger day where kids can try their hand at different survey techniques and gain a ranger cert. You’ll have the option to ask our rangers about their jobs and also to view our tribute to rangers working in conflict zones globally. The Thin Green Line is an NGO ‘protecting the protectors’ and is the driver behind World Ranger Day along with the Ranger Association of Ireland and the International Ranger Federation. See
