Plover Club 2018 – July

Our popular Plover Club is returning for 2018. During the months of July and August, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 2.00 - 3.30 p.m. We will explore our local wildlife, get hands on with survey techniques and discover what threats are facing species in the wild. June Bank Holiday Weekend

Join us on Sunday 3rd June at Murrevagh beach (Trá Buí), Mulranny for a stroll in the sand dunes about Machair formation, beach biodiversity and marine plastics. On Monday 4th June we will be holding two guided walks (2km) at the Visitor Centre in Ballycroy at 1:30p.m. and 3p.m. as well as some activities for kids within the centre.

Earth Hour 2018

Dan O Donoghue, Storyteller and Magician, will perform a candlelit hour of Folktales of Mayo featuring Ghosts, Fairies and the Nightsky. In celebration of Earth Hour 2018 and the Mayo Dark Sky Park, these stories will  be interspersed with feats of Magic and  Comedy. Most suitable for adults and young adults (8yrs +). Visitor Centre opening on March 16th, 2018

The Visitor Centre for Ballycroy National Park will reopen for the 2018 on Friday 16th of March. We would like to remind visitors that there are no entrance fees for the National Park Visitor Centre and this includes viewing the exhibition. In light of the Met Eireann RED snow-ice weather warning issued FOR ALL COUNTIES, all National Parks & Nature Reserves will be closed to the public today and tomorrow.
