Nature Awareness

Age Range: Junior Infants up to 6th Class

Involves:
• Viewing of the exhibition
• Presentation on the plants, animals and habitats found in and around Ballycroy National Park
• A walk along the Tóchar Daithi Bán Trail looking for plants, insects and frogs in the bog and in our dipping pond. Children will get to use pooters and bugviewers.

Bog Detective Challenge

Age Range: 3rd to 6th Class

Involves:
• Viewing of the exhibition.
• Presentation on bogs/peatlands the dominant habitat type of Ballycroy National Park and the plants and animals found within this particular habitat.
• A hunt to find mini-beasts using pooters
• Examining the wild plants of the bog
• Pond dipping to see what mini-beasts live in our pond
